China

China’s astounding urbanization (urban population growth of more than 550 million people since 1980) has dramatically changed the lives of the Chinese. Rural folk become migrant workers in cities separated from their families, minority peoples grapple to find their place in modernity while metropolitans sprint off in the rat race. The church in China is responding by developing its role in society, its response to pressure, its strategy in growth, and its heart in sending out cross-cultural workers.
