Taiwan

Taiwan is a wealthy country and has many openings for Christian witness and missionary work. The church remains small as most people hold strongly to traditional folk religions, Buddhism, Taoism and ancestor worship. The church is strongest in large cities amongst the well educated. However, the number of Christians is very low in rural areas and amongst the working class -- about 60% of the population.

OMF Taiwan is looking for men and women to serve short-term, mid-term (1-3 years) and long-term among unreached peoples, at risk children and women, working class and urban poor. There are many openings to reach these communities through youth work, ministering to families, church planting, evangelism and discipleship. People with drug and alcohol abuse problems need people to care, share the love of Christ and provide practical assistance where possible, - running adult education or parenting classes, offering counseling sessions etc.
