The work here has just begun and we are looking for teammates to compliment the skills we have. The hospital directors invited our team and have identified pediatrics, ICU and emergency medicine as their main foci. In addition we will offer village doctor training courses.

Job Description

This county continues to rely on agriculture. As one of the poorest regions of the province, the medical care is lagging. We desire to use our professional skills to meet patients' needs, help the local medical personnel to improve their skills, and to live out the Good News daily.

As the pediatric department was only established in 2013 there's a big need for foundational skills and upgrading. Raising the reputation of pediatrics would benefit the whole county and limit the pediatric patient drain to bigger, more expensive hospitals far away. We long to contribute the holistic health of the families in this region. We see that providing physical care will hope doors to touch people's hearts with Love.


This beautiful region is known for terraced rice fields. The sub-tropical climate provides an average temperature of 20C or 68F. Several people groups are represented in this county and not everyone speaks Mandarin. The remote setting lends to a simple lifestyle without the conveniences or stress of city life. The county hospital recently received upgrades. There are 13 township hospitals and 91 village clinics.

Responsibilities

- Provide bedside on-the-job teaching in the pediatric ward
- Care for pediatric patients on the outpatient / emergency ward
- Lead short term trainings on-site
- Host short-term teams

Qualifications

Related medical degrees in community paediatrics and/or hospital paediatrics
5 years experience in pediatrics
Good oral Chinese ability, able to read Chinese
Language training provided for long-term commitments

Living Situations

Commit 1-4 years
Able to adjust to limited resources
Ability to live well in a rural, remote area with low living standards
Suitable for a single, couple or family
Housing will be a rented apartment or a hospital VIP room for a single person
