Job Description

Serve Asia is OMF's short-term mission discipleship program. Every year more than 500 short-term workers come to serve alongside long-term workers and ministries across East Asia and amongst East Asians in diaspora. Serve Asia seeks to mobilise, disciple and equip Serve Asia workers and their communities for sharing the Good News to East Asia's peoples.

Serve Asia plays an important role in mobilising both individuals and communities to be part of what God is doing amongst East Asia's peoples. As the International Serve Asia Coordinator for Media, IT and Communication you will be helping to develop and manage initiatives using social media, the web, and other resouces for mission amongst East Asia's peoples.

Because we live in a global and connected an international coordinator can live any where! This ministry can be complemented with another ministry or with part-time language learning in any country across East Asia. You will however, need to to be able to allocate at least 2-3 days a week to the international Serve Asia ministry.

Responsibilities

- Develop and manage international Serve Asia media initiatives including social media, web page, and others.
- Help support the International Facilitator for Serve Asia in the development and management of international Serve Asia communications, publications, and intranet.
- Work, support and communicate with an international community of Serve Asia Coordinators around the world.

We do, however, hope that you will ...
- be a quick learner, creative and comfortable with social media, skype and online work
- have good communication skills and be able to communicate cross-culturaly and in an international context.
- love working with people and at the same be undaunted by having to work in front of a computer
- be flexible and be able to work with minimal supervision
- be comfortable with travelling on their own

Living Situations

This is a volunteer role and inquirers will need to apply either as an OMF Volunteer, Serve Asia Worker, or member of OMF.

You may be located anywhere to be part of the international Serve Asia ministry. We would like for our international Serve Asia Coordianators to be involved in a local ministry or part-time language class especially if you will be located in East Asia. This is because we believe the best mission mobilisers for East Asia are those whose hearts are to bring the good news of Jesus to East Asia's peoples.

There is still a need to bring the Gospel in all its fullness to this diverse nation that is open to missionaries.
