Serving alongside experienced workers you will learn what it is like to love and bless Muslims practically. This will involve being mentored in all aspects of living alongside Muslim people in a culturally appropriate way, learning how to bless them. This will be supported by worker training and conferences. You will also have a chance to learn the local language. • You will be living in a busy, vibrant city, where housing ranges from simple wooden shacks to massive mansions. While it's a busy place with lots of mopeds and people on the streets, it's also close to rural areas and great scenery. • Socially - people are friendly with community and family forming an important part of their lives. Festivals and family events are a big part of everyone's lives. • Weather - like anywhere in SE Asia it can be very hot and humid but the rainy season brings relief for a few months of the year.
We are looking for people who: - want to adapt to the local context - want to learn to build friendships with Muslims - are willing to try or learn new things - want to use their talents, giftings, and skills by: o Studying at an Asian university. o Teaching English, computers, or other skills. o Participating in arts, education, health, or community development programs. o Developing professional skills.
No formal training is required, but if you have some, that’s great too.
• Cultural sensitivity - Living in a local community it will be necessary to be culturally sensitive in dress and lifestyle, you will be given guidance on this. • Opportunities may be available in Thailand, Cambodia or other regions of SE Asia depending on when you apply.
