Job Description

Offer professional counseling services from a Christian perspective to Thai people, addressing emotional and spiritual needs. Train others in counseling techniques, integrating biblical principles, and cultural understanding to expand the impact of healing ministries in Thailand.

Responsibilities

· Provide individual and group counseling rooted in biblical truth. · Develop and conduct training programs for aspiring counselors. · Create culturally appropriate counseling materials. · Collaborate with churches and mental health organizations. · Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

· A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to make Him known. · A commitment to learning the Thai language to effectively communicate, establish relationships, and share the gospel in a culturally meaningful way. Proficiency in Thai language is essential due to the nature of the work. · Professional counseling qualifications. · Experience in counseling within cross-cultural contexts. · Deep understanding of Thai culture and societal issues. · Ability to train and mentor others in counseling. · Note: Faithfulness, perseverance, and discipline, paired with flexibility, are more important than possessing special abilities. · To obtain a Religious Affairs visa (missionary visa), some form of formal training—such as a degree, diploma, or certificate in Biblical Studies, Theology, Missiology, or a related field—is required.

Living Situation

You will:  Be based where counseling services are most needed, often urban centers.  Have a flexible schedule to accommodate clients' needs.  Engage deeply with the culture while maintaining professional boundaries.  Go with a long-term commitment (minimum of three years) to build trust relationships and see lasting impact.
