Come live among an urban people group and join a team laying the groundwork for a church planting movement. This will give you a great idea of what it’s like to be a long-term worker among an unreached people group. Preferred starting time: January or August
This will give you a great idea of what it is like to be a long-term worker amongst an unreached people group. The team prefers male applicants because relationship building is far easier for them in the context.
Activities will include: • Part-time language (4 hours/day) & culture learning • learning about local beliefs and practices, reading books, interviewing, observing • learning and practicing how to share the good news with our people group • assist our NGO with weekend activities for boys and girls clubs, English teaching, etc. • help locals use their strengths to meet needs through asset-based community development • join with others in a local hobby • prayer walking • building relationships with the end vision of sharing the Good News • visiting local families • spending time with Third Culture Kids
Flexible Enjoy spending time with people. Willingness to try new foods, and learn the language and culture. Not easily distracted from the team's clear focus on the unreached people group. Being able to thrive in places where fellowships are absent: a strong relationship with God is required for this!
A willingness to wear appropriate clothing, alter diet to meet local preferences, and be flexible to the local situation are needed.
