Located in one of the remotest parts of the country, among one of the least reached people groups, language is the gateway to new ideas and the Christian faith. However, there is a lack of trained, native language teachers in the region. We are able to place teachers in local institutions such as universities, colleges, and schools, especially if you are interested in coming short-term with a view of extending to a longer-term tentmaking role. Available in April, May, and October 2025. Length: 2 weeks-2 months
This opportunity is ideal for individual candidates who are looking to explore a calling into mission work. Activities might include conducting a language camp/ exchange. We can place English, Korean, and Chinese teachers. This is a great opportunity to use a short-term language teaching exchange to engage with local people and spend time cross-cultural workers. Living and working among the local community will help you better understand them and their needs. It will also give you a chance to better understand the local team’s approach and discern God’s call on your life.

Native speaker in the language you will be teaching. Teaching experience is a benefit. If Serve Asia workers stay longer than one month it would be helpful if they have a motorbike or driving license.
You will be required to dress according to local cultural norms which means modest dress as well as adjusting lifestyle and language. Be able to work with a diverse team of people from different cultures. Have an attitude that is flexible and willing to learn.
