Church planting teams throughout Cambodia (for the Khmer people group) need more members to help them evangelise, teach the Bible, disciple new believers and train young church leaders.
Are you passionate about the Gospel of Christ? Are you passionate about reaching the most unreached with the gospel? The majority of villages in rural Cambodia still do not have a church. Church planting teams throughout Cambodia (for the Khmer people group) need more members to help them evangelise, teach the Bible, disciple new believers and train young church leaders. Some locations may also include opportunities for youth ministry and children’s ministry. As Cambodia is an open country with religious freedom, usually these activities can proceed unhindered by the local authorities. Length of service: Church Planting is a long-term commitment. Candidates who wish to apply for this position, must first learn the language and should have a vision for serving on the field for a minimum of 8+ years.
- Prayer for rural Khmer people; this includes mobilizing others to pray, such as home churches and prayer partners. - Share the gospel/evangelise in communities that do not yet have believers - Equip new believers to study and obey Gods Word - Raise up local leaders who are able to teach the Bible to others & make disciples - Begin or help continue ministry among Youth and Children.
- A deep and growing love for God. - A desire to serve the Cambodian people. - Ability to share your faith and disciple others. - A pioneering spirit. - Ability to learn and speak the Khmer language. - Willingness to learn, understand and appreciate the local culture. - Willingness to work in a small team, often of different nationalities.
- One-year full time of cultural orientation and language study then continued language study part time alongside ministry duties. - Must be willing to adopt a simple lifestyle in keeping with the status of a local Cambodian teacher/professor. - Living in provincial locations requires a high tolerance for difficult circumstances, such as unstable electricity, lack of quick internet access, difficult roads, no supermarket, no air conditioning, and inadequate medical facilities. - Ability to be adaptable in a ministry context which may lack resources and present significant spiritual, emotional and cultural challenges. - Ability to train, teach and mentor others. - Parents must be willing to home-school their children, or use hostel/boarding schooling options.
Cambodia is looking for pioneers and partners to open new avenues for the Gospel, build up the local church, and disciple believers in the workplace.
