Will oversee and manage the Serve Asia Program, the OMF program for short term missions. Accountable to the Field Director and Ministry Leaders Council. It is recommended that the Serve Asia Coordinator is committed to the role for a minimum of 1 year. Exceptions may be made in special cases. It is preferred that the Serve Asia Coordinator live in Manila or Davao cities. Possible arrangements can be made to do this role remotely.
Will need to complete orientation and cultural learning Manage inquiries about short term missions trips, provide information about possible placements and the application process to inquirers Work with ministry leaders and the field director to screen applicants and decide on placements Visit ministries to become familiar with opportunities, workers and the situations where short term workers may go. Serve Asia Coordinators need to be aware of current global and local (Filipino) trends. Work with ministry leaders to coordinate and manage short term placements (includes creating schedules, supporting short term workers throughout their placement) Meet regularly with mobilizers and other Serve Asia Coordinators throughout OMF Will work with Daniel Learning Coordinator to ensure short term workers receive language and culture learning. Ensure proper orientation and debriefing. Promote and manage short term opportunity postings on the website, social media, etc.
Strong administrative skills, able to schedule and coordinate event and details. Good communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English. Has a heart to walk with those exploring missions and God’s calling in their lives Works well with others. Culturally sensitive. Basic knowledge of word processing, email, social media.
Living in a major city in the Philippines, with modern conveniences and amenities around, plus good travel links. Some travel will be necessary to visit colleagues across the nation. An ability to come alongside different individuals from international backgrounds, both colleagues as well as those exploring opportunities to serve in the nation, and communicate well is essential.
There is still a need to bring the Gospel in all its fullness to this diverse nation that is open to missionaries.
