Are you gifted in graphic design or videography? Are you passionate about good communication? Would you like to use your skills and experience to share what God is doing in Japan through social media?
Japan is a beautiful and culturally rich country. People are polite and life is clean and organized. But under the surface, Japanese are often lonely and hurting. Only Jesus offers the comfort and community that Japanese seek. The land of Japan needs prayer for Gospel breakthrough. Japan also needs more cross cultural workers to share the message of hope and healing that the Bible offers. Help mobilize for more prayer and more workers through the medium of social media. The OMF Japan field posts regularly on Instagram and Facebook. They reach thousands of people each month. Through your help designing interesting and eye-catching posts, more people worldwide can pray for and come to Japan.
This opportunity will be available from March 2026. You will help design various content for social media posts. Depending on your skills and past experience this could be helping with graphics, videos, and written content.
Skilled and experienced in design; some kind of design degree preferred and/or workplace experience. Access and ability to use design software or video production software. Can provide references and show previous design work. Possibly familiar with and able to create Japanese design (such as anime or other pop-cultural aspects). Able to work hard to a high quality standard. Also able to follow through and finish projects and meet deadlines faithfully. Creative and energetic, flexible and ability to improvise when needed. Passionate about good communication. Good time management and able to work independently (often unsupervised) but can work well with others and follow instructions too. Available for 3 or 6 months or 1 year (a tertiary-level qualification required for a 1 year visa). Willingness to serve and learn. Teachable!! And willing to receive feedback graciously. Ability to work alongside an international team.
You will be probably be living in a Share House in or near Tokyo (with your own room, but a shared living, kitchen and toilet) which will provide you with a chance to get to know other Japanese and internationals. You will get around by foot, bicycle and train; so bring some very comfortable walking shoes. Japan is safe, clean and convenient. As the biggest city in the world, Tokyo has more parks and sightseeing spots than you can count, so come ready to explore, learn, serve and be used by God! Note: This ministry role is part-time and will need to be shared with another Kanto ministry opportunity such as Homeless or Returnees.
Japan needs workers to partner with the Japanese church in the task of sharing the gospel and making disciples.
