Job Description

Supporting/serving the frontline team here in Cambodia.Do you have practical skills you wish to see used for the Lord – in home-making and hospitality,pastoral support,, finance, and in administration and maintenance? Are you well organised but flexible and able to cope with last minute changes and the excitement of the unexpected while serving amongst multiple ethnicities and personalities? If so, there may be an opportunity for you to join the OMF Cambodia team as Team Centre Manager.

The OMF Cambodia field has workers in many areas of the country, both urban and rural. The offices and mission home (guesthouse) are situated in the capital of Phnom Penh but provides support and a home base to the whole field. On a secondary level, it also provides a focal point for visitors wishing to experience and share in the work of OMF.

As Team Centre Manager you live on site and are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Team Centre to provide an efficient yet welcoming, home away from home environment. The team centre comprises a number of guest bedrooms (accommodating 20 persons),lounges, laundry service,offices, meeting rooms, a kitchen and dining area. As TCM you will manage booking for the guest bedrooms, supervise and support the Khmer staff who undertake cleaning, cooking, maintenance and guard duties. Manage the OMF furniture store and the housing set up for new members as well as those returning or leaving country. You are also responsible for managing the finances of the TC.
Days can be long – you are first up to unlock the building by 6.30am and last to bed after locking up at the end of the day around 9.30pm! But there are times for rest during the day – and opportunities to talk with and encourage people passing through the building.


- To maintain a hospitable environment where OMF workers are able to feel at home and renew their spirits.
- To provide a place where visitors are welcomed.
- To supervise local cooking staff – organising menus,pantry supplies etc.
- To supervise local cleaning staff – identify and assign daily tasks.
- To supervise the maintenance staff ensuring the building and all the facilities are functional and well maintained.
- To maintain the finances of the Team Centre, producing monthly reports on income, expenditure and staff salaries.
- To maintain the bookings for the guest rooms and handle the billing when guests leave.
- To manage the furniturestore and items that are available for the members of the Cambodia Field.
- When opportunity arises, to pray for and with team members.
-Attend the weekly staff devotion and produce the roster
You will be part of the Team Support team with direct responsibility to the Ministry Co-ordinator Team Support. Attend monthly TS meetings and others as required


- A deep love for God and desire to serve your expat colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and speak the Khmer language, understand and appreciate Khmer culture.
- Administrative, financial & IT ability for record-keeping, financial accounting and written communication.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- A good appreciation of basic household skills – cooking, cleaning, etc.
- Basic maintenance skills – plumbing, electrical, etc.
- An ability to cope in unexpected situations.
- Flexible early retirees are welcome.
- Due to the long hours, this role is more suited to a couple where duties can be shared.
- Previous cross-cultural experience would be an advantage.
- Willingness to adapt and flexibility to learn new ways of handling challenges.

Living Situations

- A period of full time cultural orientation and language-learning prior to starting work, then continued language study part time.
- A one month period of training from the current Team Centre Managers as part of the handover of responsibility to ensure a smooth transition.
- Must adopt a simple lifestyle in keeping with a Cambodian person of teacher status.
- Commitment to a minimum of 3 years or more.
- Ability to be adaptable in a ministry context which may lack resources and present significant spiritual, emotional and cultural challenges.
- Willing to be self-managing.
- The ability to drive is essential. A Khmer driving license will be obtained on your arrival.
- This is not a salaried position; you will need to trust the Lord for personal support.
