Teach Engineering / Business / Computer Science / Accounting / HR at university in one of the large urban centers, and impact your students for life
The universities have over 30 million students. These students are discovering life away from their parents, preparing for future careers, and discovering the world outside their hometowns. These are the next generation of leaders, and they need to hear about Jesus. As a teacher at a university, you will be in a position to not only broaden their opportunities as you teach, but also to live amongst them on a university campus, and touch their lives with love. For some of these students, your life intersecting with theirs may be the first time they have ever come in contact with a Christian; for others, your life displaying Christ's love to them may well be the next in a series of steps God has been using to bring them to faith. The mega cities are projected to hold 1 billion people by 2030. You will be working in one of several large urban centers in the country, with a population ranging from 5 million to 20 million. The university districts in these large urban centers have an abundance of students who are eager to make new friends, enjoy university life, and explore life's possibilities. The cities themselves are characterized by modern conveniences, public transportation, high-rises, traffic congestion, access to western groceries, (in some instances) air pollution and massive population. Be prepared for chaos, friendly people, delicious street food, and a spiritual thirst and hunger that will lead to boundless opportunities to reach out to the urban billion.
