Use your gifts and skills to work alongside and volunteer with a local organization for refugees in the city.
Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country located in Southeast Asia; a melting pot of cultures, beautiful landscapes and gastronomical delights. Geographically, it comprises of two regions, Peninsular (or West) Malaysia and East Malaysia, separated by the South China Sea. As a volunteer, you can contribute to and connect to the refugee community in the Klang Valley by assisting a local organization through various means; healthcare, administration, training in IT, training in various vocations (baking, electrical, etc.) being a shelter home guardian, teaching English, etc. Minimum of 3 months. Starting October 2024 Depending on your placement, you will be based in a busy, urban area with easy connectivity to modern conveniences. Malaysia sees sunshine all year round with rainy seasons in between.
Assist existing ministries to the refugees
• Good command of English. • Able to connect and engage with people from various backgrounds. • Experience in teaching/assisting in teaching English (if this role is available at the time) • Qualifications of your professional/vocational skills
• You will be living in an urban setting. Life will be simple but comfortable. • You will need to be flexible, willing to learn, take initiative and be a team player. • We are looking for humble and teachable workers • You must be spiritually mature enough to grow on your own. • At least 3 months (commencing October 2024) • Approximate cost: estimated USD 15/day, excluding international flights, insurances and administrative fees.
