Are you the pioneering type? Come start a team to bring the Good News to an Unreached People Group (UPG) in Southeast Asia.
Every man and woman should have the opportunity to decide what they want to believe. However, millions live in cities or villages without the opportunity to meet a genuine follower of Jesus. How can they know the love of God without meeting someone who can express that love in practical way?
- Learn the local language and culture - Create a ministry plan which includes goals and strategies for reaching the UPG - Partner with like-minded people also working in the area (if any) - Mobilize a prayer movement - Find and / or set up a viable working platform to obtain a visa - Mobilize others to join the work by receiving short and mid-term volunteers - Identify how national believers not from the area can be mobilized to join the work
- Ability to pioneer into a new area and work on their own (initially) with support from a distance - Suitable qualification that will allow them to obtain a working visa in the context
You will be living in a busy, vibrant city, where housing ranges from simple wooden shacks to massive mansions. Socially people are friendly with community and family forming an important part of their lives. Festivals and family events are a big part of everyone's lives. Weather - like anywhere in SE Asia it can be very hot and humid but the rainy season brings relief for a few months of the year. Cultural sensitivity - there is a need to be culturally sensitive in dress and lifestyle. In the local culture it is important that the men relate to the men and the women relate to the women.
Go where no church exists. Plant and nurture seeds of the Gospel in unreached places so that indigenous churches may be established.
