One in seven of all Muslims live in Southeast Asia. Come join a team who love Muslims as we work and live among them.
You will join an existing team serving people in Southeast Asia. You will use your existing gifts and skills to bring social and economic improvement to the lives of ordinary Muslims in culturally appropriate ways. You will learn the culture so you can live, study and work among our beloved Muslim neighbors here in Southeast Asia. With this foundation you will be involved in sharing the love of Jesus and helping them understand who Jesus Christ is. We do not hide the way we worship God, as we want our neighbors to see that true followers of Jesus take their faith seriously. Reading the scriptures, fellowship and prayer are important elements. Most of us live in large cities. Some are densely populated with a lot of traffic. Others have more the setting of suburbs. Muslims are very hospitable and there is usually some opportunity to visit their heartland, in the countryside.
In your secular role, you may study, teach, serve as a professional, run a business, empower poor communities and contribute to nation-building in Southeast Asia. You’ll have opportunities to make friends with your neighbors. At the same time, you’ll be working with like-minded followers of Jesus in loving and serving our neighbors.
We seek people to serve among the Muslims of Southeast Asia who: • want to build relationships with Muslims and understand their culture. • have gifts that can be used to serve others and help the host country. • have suitable qualifications. Coming as a student may be an option for the short term and long-term may require a degree and appropriate work experience.
Your early days on the field will be spent with our experienced teammates who will help you to develop your language, local culture and worldview skills.
