Job Description

There are 23.5 million people in Taiwan. Almost two-thirds of the population are working-class people. While Christians make up about 3% of the population, probably 0.5% of the working-class are Christians. Not many local Christians and churches are reaching out to the working-class (but it's changing), so we focus our energy to reaching out to the working-class people in Taiwan. We have a great team of missionaries reaching out to the working-class, but they're not all up-to-date on the latest with social media (or they just don't have time). So, we need you to help us tell the story of Taiwan's working-class people to people and churches—we want to mobilize the body of Christ to see that they can play a part in reaching the working-class, whether that's through prayer, giving, coming short-term or long-term. Taiwan is a country of contrasts. There is the old and new. There are natural wonders and concrete jungles. There's plenty to discover from local shops to night markets, temples—big and small, and people everywhere! We'd love for you to come and check it out for a period of time so you get a sense of our heart for the working-class. Maybe you could even stay for a few months and join one of our teams to work with the working-class yourself.

Responsibilities

• Help develop and manage our social media presence • Research, gather, and communicate stories about life and ministry among the working-class • Communicate and train missionaries to utilize the power of social media • Assist with other online resources (if possible) • Work alongside our Field Mobilizer • (If based in Taiwan) possible ministry involvement with working-class ministry

Qualifications

We'd love you to have some background or experience in: • communications or marketing • photography/video-making skills But, don't worry if you don't…we're looking for someone who will: • be a quick learner • be comfortable and creative with social media • have good communication skills (especially cross-culturally and internationally) *Applicants must be over 18 years old. • be flexible and work with minimal supervision

Living Situation

If you're working in Taiwan, it'll be quite a simple affair but you'll be quite comfortable. You'll need a little bit of a independent streak or be self-confident to give it a go on your own. Be flexible and teachable. In most cases, you'll either be walking and/or cycling and/or using public transport to get around.
