Come as a University or College Student and work with a Team in Southeast Asia.
Local students are open to change and to connecting with foreign students. Hence this is a strategic opportunity for young people with a desire to reach their peers. Work with a multicultural team focused on a people group living in a city. Our vision is to see numerous people growing in their knowledge of Jesus Christ. We build relationships as we serve among these people, showing love and communicating the message in word and deed. Single workers will usually share an apartment with local students or stay in a student dorm. Married workers will live in an area where they can have contact with local people in a similar situation in life to themselves.
-An initial period of language study and cultural adaptation followed by College studies. -Facilitating growing understanding of Jesus among your fellow students, friends and neighbours. -Assisting with short-term teams.
• Must have a degree and a desire for doing further studies in conjunction with ministry. • The applicant will be required to dress according to local cultural norms. This means dressing modestly, as well as to adjusting both lifestyle and language so that we can help others appreciate Jesus. • Have an attitude that is flexible and willing to learn.
The applicant should be prepared to live a contextualized lifestyle within the community in which they will live. Among other things, this relates to dressing modestly and the food we eat. It also means adapting the language we use to communicate the message. In the local culture it is important that the men relate to the men and the women relate to the women. These steps taken will go far in building bridges with our neighbors.
If God has given you a heart for the peoples of East Asia, you can be part of God's purposes for them in different practical ways, even in your home country.
