There are thousands of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and other East and Southeast Asian people in the UK and Ireland. Many are keen to make friends, learn about local culture and explore new ideas. Whether they stay on in the UK/Ireland or return to East Asia, how amazing would it be if they came to know Jesus and develop a passion to share Christ with others? There are far more opportunities to share faith in Jesus with East Asian people than our existing teams can fulfil. This role would increase our local Returnee Focus and Intercultural Ministries team’s capacity to share Jesus with East Asians. The ideas and gifts that you would bring could also be a great encouragement and asset as our teams seek to develop their ministry. You would also contribute to the local OMF mobilisation team’s ministry, working with local individuals and churches becoming more involved sharing the gospel with the nations. The hope is that you would then take your learning and experiences back to your own church to serve them in their involvement in mission amongst the nations. Cities like Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast are lively and multicultural. They are historic and rich in local culture, but also globally connected. Today, they are made up of long-term residents, students and working people from all over the world, including significant numbers of East Asian heritage.
