Do you love children, enjoy teaching English, and are creative and explorative? Here’s a rare and exciting opportunity to serve rural kids in Mongolia.
Mongolia is the home of about 120.000 Kazakhs, a Turkic Central-Asian people group of traditionally semi-nomadic herders. As a part of this Serve Asia team, you will teach English to Kazakh herders' children and their friends in a rural area of Mongolia. You will use your creativity and individual gifts to create a varied program for them, including games and activities. This opportunity is designed to help children learn English, while inviting them to experience the love and care of our great God, through learning and building relationship together. Participants are supposed to be in Mongolia for about a month in September. The teaching opportunity may combine with some days of focused prayer. A Serve Asia volunteer will not only have the chance to spend time with the children, but also will interact with and get to know their parents, all while experiencing rural life in Mongolia.

We are looking for people who: - are eager to invest in relationships that reflect the love of Christ - love spending time with children - are flexible, creative and able to adjust to changing circumstances - enjoy creating programs for a multi-aged group of children - are able to teach English in engaging and creative ways Other qualifications: - English proficiency (some teaching experience recommended) - Experience working with children - Creativity and ability to work in a team
Cultural sensitivity - When living in a local community it is necessary to be culturally sensitive in dress, lifestyle, and diet. You will be given guidance in preparing for this immersive and adventurous placement. Serve Asia team members will stay in a rural and comparatively remote location. Living conditions are likely to be very simple. Food will be local with very limited opportunities to find western-style alternatives. You will live like a local.
In 1990, there were less than 10 known Christians in Mongolia. Today there are more than 40,000 believers meeting in more than 400 churches.
