Join our team in the Philippines and come alongside people as they discern God's calling and engage in short-term mission through the OMF Serve Asia discipleship program.
Serve Asia is OMF's short-term missions discipleship program. As a Receiving Serve Asia Coordinator, you will help screen, prepare, receive and debrief those who want to serve short-term (less than 12 months) in the Philippines. This role is based in Manila or Davao and is accountable to the Philippines Field Director and Ministry Leaders Council.
Know OMF Philippines' short-term missions opportunities, visit ministries as needed, and communicate with inquirers and field leaders to ensure suitable placements. Be aware of current global and local trends in the Philippines. Promote opportunities to mobilizers and other Serve Asia Coordinators throughout OMF and manage short term opportunity postings on the website, social media, etc. Respond to and manage inquiries and help match the right opportunity, affirming the value of missions discipleship and walking prayerfully in relationship with each inquirer, working closely with strategy leaders to screen applicants and decide on placements. Guide accepted applicants through the preparation stage of planning trip logistics including working with strategy leaders to coordinate and manage placements, keeping field hosts informed of developments, provide pre-departure orientation/cultural learning working closely with Daniel Learning Coordinator, and post-term debrief. Be willing to work flexible hours and do some travel.
Strong administrative skills, able to schedule and coordinate event and details. Good communication skills, fluent in spoken and written English. Has a heart for discipleship and to walk with those exploring missions and God’s calling in their lives Works well with others. Culturally sensitive. Basic knowledge of word processing, email, social media.
Living in a major city in the Philippines, with modern conveniences and amenities around, plus good travel links. Some travel will be necessary to visit colleagues across the nation. An ability to come alongside different individuals from international backgrounds, both colleagues as well as those exploring opportunities to serve in the nation, and communicate well is essential.
There is still a need to bring the Gospel in all its fullness to this diverse nation that is open to missionaries.
