Our Cambodian church partners have an urgent need for short-term workers (3 months to 1 year) to teach language (especially English, Korean, Chinese) and/or computer skills, assisting their outreach and church-planting programs.
This role is a challenging opportunity to contribute to dynamic church-planting efforts led by trusted Khmer partners. Gathering youth in unreached areas through teaching language, computers, and other skills can be the foundation of a new community of believers. Partnering with local evangelists, you will experience the joys and struggles of grass-roots Cambodian life and ministry. An experienced missionary mentor will support as you contribute to an indigenous gospel movement.
- Pray for Khmer people; mobilize others to pray, such as home churches and prayer partners. - Teach basic language, computer and other skills, often with limited resources. - Spend regular time receiving basic training in Khmer language and culture. - Partner with local believers as they share the gospel and engage in church-planting. - Be prepared to stay in a more remote or rural location for at least 1-3 nights each week.
- A deep and growing dependence on God. - A desire to serve the Cambodian people and to play your part in the Great Commission. - Willingness to learn, understand and appreciate the local culture, listening to local leadership. - Ability to adapt to simple lifestyle, and to be very flexible about working conditions and resources. - Experience teaching language, computer or other skills is helpful but not necessary.
Depending on the location of the church plant, you can expect to be based in Phnom Penh. If appropriate, each week you could stay in the ministry location with local believers, in a more remote or rural situation.
Cambodia is looking for pioneers and partners to open new avenues for the Gospel, build up the local church, and disciple believers in the workplace.
