Assist Filipino partners in their urban and rural church planting efforts by sharing Jesus Christ and by helping see that people’s practical and spiritual needs are met.
Work in communities to help address spiritual and practical needs. Share the Good News of Jesus Christ through word and deed, disciple new believers, and help establish churches that transform lives and communities.
· Serve humbly alongside partner denominations or churches. · Build relationships in communities to share the Gospel. · Provide practical assistance in areas like education, health, financial management, or employment. · Disciple new believers and train local leaders. · Collaborate with organizations addressing poverty and injustice. · Advocate for community needs while reflecting Christ's compassion.
· A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to make Him known. · A commitment to learning the local language and culture to effectively communicate, establish relationships, and share the gospel in meaningful ways. · Compassion for the marginalized and solid understanding of the theology of suffering. · Preferably background in social work, community development, or ministry. · Ability to live and work in challenging environments. · Cultural sensitivity and strong relational skills. · Biblical studies – degree, diploma or certificate (Can be done while serving in the Philippines). Note: Faithfulness, patience, perseverance, and discipline, paired with flexibility, are more important than possessing special abilities.
Reside in or near the communities, embracing simplicity. Adapt to modest living conditions with a servant's heart. Engage deeply with community life and challenges. Go with a long-term commitment to build trust relationships and see lasting impact. Minimum of three years is ideal but 1-3 year commitments are also possible.
There is still a need to bring the Gospel in all its fullness to this diverse nation that is open to missionaries.
