Do you have a special place in your heart to minister to missionary third culture kids (TCKs)? The OMF Taiwan field is seeking a short-term team to serve in the TCK Program at their Annual Field Conference in February 2027. Field conference is a great time to meet OMF missionaries from all the ministries around Taiwan in one location.
The Field Conference TCK Program caters for babies/toddlers from 0-4 years old, elementary aged students from kindergarten-5th grade, as well as a group of middle school/ high school students . The Annual Field Conference is a time when all OMF missionaries in Taiwan come together for fellowship and learning. It is also a special time for the our TCKs to bond, have fun, and learn together. The TCK program at field conference has two main purposes: 1) it is for the TCKs to have fun as they grow in their own walk with Jesus Christ; 2) to have a time where they can share their common experience as TCKs in Taiwan and express their challenges and joys.
• Pray for the children’s spiritual growth, the program, the workers and overall safety and health of all involved • Prepare program/curriculum to be used before arriving in Taiwan • Prepare songs, activities and crafts prior to the conference. • Coordinate with Field Conference TCK Program Coordinator for any craft/ game supplies that needed to be sourced locally prior to arriving in Taiwan • Lead or assist in the TCK program; work with the TCK Program Coordinator • Clean and pack up after the conference • Get to know the children and help them grow in their knowledge and relationship with God and others
Must be at least 18 years old • Able to relate well with children, taking initiative in interactions • Maturity to influence children positively during formal and informal interaction • Able to explain your own faith in simple and relevant ways • Confidence in delivering the program in English • Willingness to do thorough preparation for the activities is required • Willingness to persevere when tired/hot, or when things are not going as smoothly as planned
The OMF field conference is usually held at a family style campsite that has separate meeting space for the kids and teens. In previous years, the campsite is central Taiwan, close to the city of Taichung. SAWs should be prepared to share a room with a few others of the same gender. It would be great if SAWs also have the following attitudes: • Servant hearted • Be available and able to work as part of a team • Be flexible and open to new ideas • Ability to keep time on social media/ internet to a minimum in an effort to be fully invested in ministry
Taiwan is a wealthy country and is wide open to Christian activities and to missionary work.
