Personal Evangelism
Personal Evangelism

As the world gets more complicated and mission approaches get more creative, the primary expression of loving others remains helping them explore a restored relationship with God. No social program, job skill training, or missions strategy can help an individual as much as putting their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. At OMF International, every worker looks for opportunities to love the people around them and share the gospel in appropriate ways. This underlies the motivation in the common relationships and routines of ministries such as community development, medical work, teaching, etc. However, in some situations, the work of personal evangelism is a full time opportunity, calling and work. God has provided some places and opportunities where full-time roles focus on sharing the gospel with people open to beginning their relationship with God. These evangelists meet new people, follow up with existing contacts, and pray for God’s work in each individual’s heart. As Paul talks about spiritual gifts in his writing, this gospel-sharing work opens opportunities to encourage others in their evangelism too. You may have opportunities to develop training programs to help others become more effective in sharing God’s hope with others. Evangelism is done in partnership with the local churches and with a desire and emphasis to encourage local believers to share their faith with their communities. We seek workers who: • Have a passion for sharing the gospel with other people. • Are excited about seeing the Holy Spirit at work among God's people. • Are dependent on God through his word and prayer.
 • Are walking by faith, humble and willing to learn new things. • Are patient, flexible, creative and able to take initiative. • Are lifelong learners willing to grow in engaging the lost with the gospel message
. • Can be committed and active members in a multicultural team. • A desire to help encourage others realize their ministry potential. • Must be committed to learning the national language and studying the culture. • If required by the context, have appropriate qualifications of education, expertise and/or experience to help them to seek job opportunities. • Have some formal bible and cross-cultural training. Certain countries require missionaries to spend one to two years in Christian ministry. • Have a long-term view of ministry to East Asia through OMF’s 6 Ways To Reach God’s World.
