At the heart of OMF International’s vision, God is working to transform the hearts and lives of both the people we are serving and the missionaries. We see training and equipping others with key skills and perspective as a vital part of that transformation process. In some places this training is a key way to serve the communities we are trying to reach. A trainer focused on community development may focus on helping people from everything to addressing physical health habits to introducing new methods for resolving conflicts in family relationships. Sometimes the training takes a more specific and formal form such as equipping young people with life coaching and career advancement skills. In appropriate stages and situations, we have opportunities to serve the growing church movements by equipping local believers and church leaders for effective ministry. This can take place both through formal training programs, informal opportunities for coaching, and natural relationships and encouragement. Our great joy is in seeing local believers not only join the ministries we’re involved in, but lead them and initiate new service to meet new challenges. Gifted trainers are also needed in mobilization and member development. As OMF mobilizers journey together with people and churches exploring getting involved in missions, there are lots of training opportunities as people move into different activities such as short-term trips, launching prayer initiatives, learning to reach out to international students, etc. After people join OMF full time, we continue to train and develop them so they are equipped with all the skills and tools needed to be effective in their work. These training programs include a range of materials from personal and spiritual growth, equipping for effective evangelism and discipleship, development for leaders, and training for specific roles. We are looking for trainers who: - Have a desire to see individuals and communities equipped - Are servant-hearted, flexible and have skills related to training such as communication, writing, speaking, coaching, developing curriculum, building presentation tools, etc. - Are committed to work with others to build up the church for effective service - Preferably have experience working in East Asian cultures and with multi-cultural teams - Willing to learn new skills, languages and persevere with a long-term view - Have one to two years of bible school training with cross-cultural or missions studies If you sense God leading you to serve East Asia through the ministry of training, contact us to find out more about the vast opportunities.
